It depends on which product you buy. The North American Collector’s Edition bundle includes a physical copy of the game, a Digital Deluxe upgrade code and the collectibles. The standalone Collector’s Goods Box contains the collectibles only and excludes both the game and the upgrade code. Regional versions in Asia and Japan have their own contents, so check your local store.

Bundle versus Goods Box at a glance

Square Enix’s North American store lists two collector’s products for Final Fantasy Resonance. The Collector’s Edition bundle contains the game, an upgrade code and collectibles. The Collector’s Goods Box contains collectibles without the game or code. The names are similar, so read the listing carefully.

If you want the game and the physical extras in one purchase, the bundle is the product that includes both. If you already own the game, or plan to buy it digitally, the Goods Box adds only the merchandise. Neither product changes the story you play. The difference is entirely what arrives in the box.

What the North American bundle includes

The bundle’s contents explicitly list the physical game and a Digital Deluxe upgrade code. The upgrade code unlocks the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack in the game. The collectibles include an acrylic set, an art book, a soundtrack and a trading card. Together these make the bundle the most complete option on that store.

Square Enix’s listing is the authoritative source for the exact contents. Bundle details can change before release, especially for limited physical goods. Check the store page on the day you order. Availability of collector’s items is volatile.

What the Collector’s Goods Box includes

The standalone Collector’s Goods Box is a merchandise product. Its listing explicitly excludes the game and the Digital Deluxe upgrade code. It covers the collectible categories of the edition. It suits players who already have the game from another source.

The listing’s item-count wording does not match its enumerated categories. For that reason we do not state a total number of items. Rely on the list of items shown on the store page itself. If anything is unclear, contact the store before ordering.

The Digital Deluxe upgrade code

The upgrade code in the North American bundle adds the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. That pack includes a chocobo appearance item, an item that unlocks a character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst, an accessory and consumables. Steam lists the consumables as Tent, Mist Potion, Mist Ether and Phoenix Down x5 each, plus Remedy x3. Square Enix Asia names the Magitek Armor Key, the Archwitch’s Grimoire and the Mastery Ring, which boosts affinity with Visions.

The upgrade code is part of the North American bundle specifically. Do not assume every regional collector’s edition includes it. Check the contents listed for your region. Our Deluxe guide explains the pack in full.

Regional versions differ

Square Enix Asia lists its own bundle with a game and collectibles. The Japanese edition has separate regional bundle specifications on the Japanese official site. Contents are not identical across regions. A description of one region’s box does not apply to another.

Buy from the store that serves your region and read that listing. Pay particular attention to whether a game copy and an upgrade code are included. Shipping and availability also vary by country. The store page is the only reliable answer for your location.

Which platform the game copy is for

The bundle includes a physical copy of the game, so it is tied to a platform. Final Fantasy Resonance launches on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Check which platform the store lists for the bundle you are buying. Do not assume a copy for one console works on another.

This matters most on Nintendo hardware. Nintendo reports no planned upgrade pack or save transfer between the Switch and Switch 2 editions. Make sure the copy matches the console you will play on. Our Switch and Switch 2 guides explain the difference.

Videos about the Collector’s Edition

A YouTube video titled “I Wasn’t Expecting This… Final Fantasy Resonance Collector’s Edition” was published on June 9, 2026. Its description identifies collector’s edition commentary. A video title is not a contents list, however. Verify purchase contents from your regional store rather than from commentary.

Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show trailer promotes the story and the launch. It is story context, not an unboxing. We did not find an official unboxing video among our sources. If one appears, we will link it here.

Collector’s Edition versus Digital Deluxe

Digital Deluxe is a purely digital purchase of the game plus the Deluxe pack. The PlayStation US store lists it at US$59.99. Collector’s merchandise is not part of Digital Deluxe. The physical items come only with the collector’s products.

The North American bundle effectively combines a physical game, the Deluxe pack and the merchandise. If you do not care about physical items, Digital Deluxe gives you the same in-game pack. If you want the merchandise but already own the game, the Goods Box fills that gap. Choose based on what you actually want to receive.

Pre-order bonuses and collector’s purchases

The pre-order bonus is the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack. Square Enix Asia states that pre-order eligibility ends at release. Whether a particular collector’s order includes it depends on the store’s terms. Check the listing you order from.

Bonus items are claimed at the postbox outside the inn in the Town of Mitra after sufficient story progress. A separate early-purchase bonus, the Squire Kickstart Pack, is also listed by Nintendo. Our pre-order bonus guide explains both. Neither bonus is a physical collectible.

The game inside the bundle

The game in every edition is the same single-player RPG with HD-2D visuals and turn-based battles. It launches on October 22, 2026, with Japanese Steam listing October 23. Previews from IGN and VGC estimate the story at around 30–40 hours. Steam credits Square Enix and LANCARSE Ltd. as developers.

If you want to try it before committing to a collector’s purchase, a free demo is available. It covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1, and the save carries into the full game. Play the demo on the platform your bundle copy is for. That way your progress continues when the box arrives.

Before you order

Confirm four things on the store page: game included, upgrade code included, platform and region. Those four details separate the bundle from the Goods Box. They also catch regional differences. A quick check now avoids a disappointing delivery.

Order from Square Enix’s official store or an authorised retailer for your region. Collector’s items sell out and listings change. Screenshots of an old listing may no longer be accurate. The live store page always wins.

This page was checked on October 19, 2026, before launch. Both North American store pages returned their listings at that time. Stock and contents can change without notice. We will update this guide if Square Enix revises either listing.

If you notice a change, send us the store URL and what differs. Photos of a delivered box are also welcome for later updates. We verify every correction before publishing it. That keeps the comparison reliable for collectors.
