Not yet. Before the October 22, 2026 launch, the only playable part of the game is the free demo, which covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1. Publisher sources and preview sessions do not establish a complete, tested route to the ending. This page is the hub for the full-game walkthrough, and chapter sections will be added only after a verified playthrough.
What is playable right now
The free demo covers the opening of the story through the end of Chapter 1. Square Enix announced it, and the PlayStation Blog confirmed the PS5 version on September 3, 2026. Square Enix estimates about 3–5 hours for that chapter. Everything after Chapter 1 arrives with the full game.
Demo progress can continue into the full release. That makes the demo the start of your real playthrough. Our demo walkthrough covers how to approach Chapter 1. This hub covers the campaign that follows.
Why there is no full route yet
A complete walkthrough needs a full playthrough of the release build. That is not possible before launch. Hands-on previews covered limited press sessions, not the whole game. Publishing chapter steps now would mean inventing them.
We will not invent a chapter count, an ending route or a completion percentage. We also will not label a “Full Demo” video as a full-game guide. Each chapter will be added after we verify it. That keeps every step on this hub trustworthy.
What the previews covered
IGN’s hands-on preview covers a limited press session that included a later dungeon. RPGFan’s preview likewise covers only a small section of the adventure. VGC’s preview describes overworld travel and visiting a shrine. None of them is a full-game playthrough.
These previews confirm the kinds of places you will visit. RPGFan describes an overworld, towns, dungeons and Sanctums. They do not give an order of chapters or objectives. That is why we use them for context, not for steps.
How long the full walkthrough will be
IGN and VGC estimate the main story at around 30–40 hours. IGN estimates 60–80 hours for completionists, from a single source. A full walkthrough will span that whole adventure. It will be built chapter by chapter.
The demo is a 3–5-hour slice of that total, according to Square Enix. Do not use it to calculate the number of chapters. We have not verified the chapter count. Our length guide explains the estimates in detail.
How each chapter guide will work
Each chapter section will follow the objective displayed in the game. It will give the destination, the required interaction and the encounter. It will then point to the next objective. Optional exploration will be listed separately.
Boss decisions will be explained with the party and Visions we used. Spoiler warnings will appear before story events. Each section will state the platform and version tested. That makes every step checkable.
Battle basics for every chapter
Every chapter uses the same core battle systems. Battles show a turn order timeline that you should watch. Exploiting enemy weaknesses helps you stagger them. The PlayStation Blog says stagger suppresses enemy action and lowers defense.
IGN notes that stagger also grants extra turns. Nintendo’s overview links weaknesses and extra turns to Resonance attacks. Mastering this loop early makes later chapters easier. Our beginner tips explain each part.
Visions throughout the story
Visions let familiar heroes such as Cloud, Tidus and Warrior of Light add skills to your party. The PlayStation Blog says Visions are obtained through events and then equipped. Learned Vision abilities can remain equipped within a cost limit. That makes Visions part of your progression across chapters.
We have not verified where each Vision is obtained. The walkthrough will note Vision events as we reach them. We will not guess unlock points in advance. Our characters guide lists the confirmed Vision heroes.
Optional content and side challenges
Official copy lists optional challenges beyond the main adventure. They include the Colosseum, the Chamber of Arms and powerful foes such as Ultima Weapon. The walkthrough will cover them in separate sections. They will not interrupt the main route.
We have not verified any permanently missable content. Our missables guide tracks what is actually confirmed. If a chapter contains a verified point of no return, the walkthrough will warn you before it. Until then, explore each area before advancing.
Your party across the campaign
Hands-on previews report Rain, Lasswell, Fina and Lid as the story party. IGN describes Rain as a knight, Lasswell as his childhood friend, Fina as a summoner and Lid as an aspiring engineer. We have not verified whether others join later. The walkthrough will note party changes as we reach them.
Each chapter guide will list the party and Visions we used. That helps you compare your setup with ours. It also makes boss advice reproducible. Our characters guide has the confirmed profiles.
Bonus items along the way
Pre-order bonus items are claimed at the postbox outside the inn in the Town of Mitra. They become available after sufficient story progress. The walkthrough will flag that point once we verify it. The Magitek Airship Passkey changes the airship’s appearance rather than unlocking early travel.
Digital Deluxe items arrive through your purchase. The walkthrough will not assume you own them. Strategies will work with the standard edition. Optional bonus gear will be mentioned separately.
Reference videos
Rubhen925 uploaded a no-commentary full-demo playthrough on PS5 Pro, which runs 4:18:46. The same creator uploaded Part 1 of the demo, which runs 1:39:08. Both cover only the demo, not the campaign. Their titles say “Full Demo” and “Part 1”, not “Full Game”.
We have verified the videos’ metadata but not reviewed them scene by scene. They are useful if you want to watch the opening chapter. They are not a substitute for a verified walkthrough. Full-game videos will only be linked after we check them.
Platforms and saves
Final Fantasy Resonance launches on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The walkthrough will apply to all of them. Saves do not transfer between the Switch and Switch 2 editions. On PC, do not assume saves move between Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Play the demo on the platform and store you plan to keep. Your Chapter 1 progress will then carry into the full game. The walkthrough will pick up from there. Our platform guides explain each version.
When chapters will appear
The game launches on October 22, 2026, with Japanese Steam listing October 23. Chapter guides will follow as we verify them in the release build. They will appear in story order. Each will be dated when published.
The hub will link every chapter as it goes live. Unpublished chapters will not appear as empty pages. That avoids sending you to placeholders. Check back after launch for the first chapters.
Help us build the walkthrough
If you play ahead of us after launch, you can help. Send the objective text, where it led and how you solved it. Screenshots or short clips speed up verification. Include your platform and version.
We will verify every contribution before publishing it. Credit is available if you want it. Unverified steps will stay off the hub. That keeps the walkthrough accurate for everyone.
