The Digital Deluxe Edition combines the base game with the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. The pack adds a chocobo appearance item, an item that unlocks a character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst, an accessory and a set of consumables. On the US PlayStation Store it costs US$59.99, against US$49.99 for Standard. It adds items, not extra story chapters.
Digital Deluxe in one sentence each
Digital Deluxe is the full base game plus the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. Standard is the full base game on its own. Both editions let you play the complete story. The difference is the bundle of in-game items.
The US Xbox store lists the Digital Deluxe Edition and also identifies a separately sold upgrade. That upgrade lets Standard owners add the pack later. The PlayStation US store lists Standard and Digital Deluxe as separate purchase options. Prices vary by region and store.
What the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack contains
Official descriptions say the pack adds a chocobo appearance item and an item that unlocks a character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst. It also adds an accessory and consumables. Square Enix Asia names the Magitek Armor Key and the Archwitch’s Grimoire as part of the pack. It also names the Mastery Ring, which boosts affinity with Visions.
Steam lists the consumables in detail. They are Tent, Mist Potion, Mist Ether and Phoenix Down, five of each. The pack also includes Remedy x3. Those are the confirmed contents.
Price difference
The PlayStation US store lists Standard at US$49.99 and Digital Deluxe at US$59.99. That is a US$10 difference on that store. Other regions and stores show local prices. Check your own store before deciding.
The separately sold upgrade has its own price on each store. We did not record a verified upgrade price in our sources. Look it up on the store you use. Compare it against the Deluxe price difference before buying.
Buying Deluxe versus upgrading later
There are two routes to the Deluxe pack. You can buy the Digital Deluxe Edition outright. Or you can buy Standard and add the separately sold upgrade later. The upgrade requires the base game.
Buying Deluxe from the start is simplest if you already know you want the pack. Upgrading later lets you try the game first. The free demo also helps with that decision. Demo progress can carry into the full game.
The Mastery Ring and Visions
The Mastery Ring is the accessory in the pack, and Square Enix Asia says it boosts affinity with Visions. Visions are how familiar Final Fantasy heroes add skills and abilities to your party. Learned Vision abilities can remain equipped within a cost limit, according to the PlayStation Blog. The ring relates to that system.
We have not measured how much the ring changes affinity gains. Official sources describe its effect but do not give numbers. We will not invent a percentage. If testing after launch produces reliable figures, we will add them.
The Fel Meteor Limit Burst item
One item in the pack unlocks a character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst. Official descriptions confirm that unlock. They do not detail its damage or exactly when it becomes usable. We therefore describe it only as an unlock.
Square Enix Asia names the Archwitch’s Grimoire among the pack’s items. The selected videos do not independently demonstrate every item effect. Until launch testing is possible, rely on the official wording. Our characters guide covers the party and Visions.
The chocobo appearance item
The pack includes a chocobo appearance item. It is cosmetic, changing how a chocobo looks. Square Enix Asia names the Magitek Armor Key among the pack’s contents. Official copy does not describe any stat effect for the appearance item.
Cosmetic items are a matter of taste. If the look appeals to you, it is a clear part of the pack’s value. If not, the consumables and accessory are the practical parts. Judge the pack on the parts you care about.
What Deluxe does not include
No verified permanent DLC roadmap is included with Digital Deluxe. We found no early access to the game for Deluxe buyers. We also found no performance advantage. Do not assume any of these when buying.
Collector’s merchandise is not part of Digital Deluxe either. The physical art book, soundtrack, acrylic set and trading card come with collector’s products only. The North American Collector’s Edition bundle includes a Digital Deluxe upgrade code. Our Collector’s Edition guide explains that bundle.
Deluxe, pre-order and early-purchase bonuses
The Deluxe pack is separate from the pre-order bonus. The pre-order bonus is the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack, and eligibility ends at release. A separate early-purchase bonus is called the Squire Kickstart Pack on Nintendo’s listing. The Xbox store also distinguishes the pre-order pack from the later early-purchase pack.
That means a Deluxe pre-order can collect more than one set of items. Store terms decide which bonuses apply to your purchase. Read the listing on the store you buy from. Our pre-order bonus guide explains each pack.
Deluxe on each platform
The PlayStation US store lists Digital Deluxe at US$59.99 alongside Standard at US$49.99. The US Xbox store lists the Digital Deluxe Edition and a separately sold upgrade. Steam lists the Deluxe pack’s consumables on its product page. The Xbox listing also supports Xbox Play Anywhere across Xbox and PC.
We did not verify a Deluxe listing price for the Nintendo editions in our sources. Check the Nintendo Store for your region before buying. Remember that the Switch and Switch 2 editions are separate products with no save transfer. Buy Deluxe for the edition you will actually play.
Getting Deluxe through the Collector’s Edition
Square Enix’s North American Collector’s Edition bundle includes a Digital Deluxe upgrade code. The bundle also includes a physical copy of the game and collectibles. That makes it another route to the same Deluxe pack. The standalone Collector’s Goods Box does not include the code.
Do not assume collector’s editions in other regions include the upgrade code. Square Enix Asia and the Japanese site list their own bundle contents. Read the listing for your region carefully. Our Collector’s Edition guide compares the bundle and the goods box.
Is Deluxe worth it?
That is a personal call rather than a universal answer. The pack offers convenience items, a cosmetic, an accessory and a Limit Burst unlock. None of it is required to finish the story. Players who like extra customisation may value it more.
If you are unsure, start with the free demo. It covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1, and the save carries over. You can then buy Standard and upgrade later if you change your mind. That keeps your options open.
