The pre-order bonus is the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack. It contains the Magitek Airship Passkey, Knight’s Greatsword, Chestplate of Preparation and Magicite Shard, one each, plus Tent and Mist Potion, three each. After sufficient story progress, you claim it at the postbox outside the inn in the Town of Mitra. Pre-order eligibility ends at release.
Every item in the pre-order pack
Steam lists the full contents of the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack. You get one Magitek Airship Passkey, one Knight’s Greatsword, one Chestplate of Preparation and one Magicite Shard. You also get three Tents and three Mist Potions. That is the complete confirmed list.
The pack mixes equipment, a cosmetic item and consumables. The Knight’s Greatsword and Chestplate of Preparation are gear for the early game. The Tents and Mist Potions are recovery items. The Magicite Shard is listed as a single item.
What the Magitek Airship Passkey does
Square Enix Asia says the airship item changes the airship’s appearance. It is a cosmetic change. It does not unlock early airship travel. Do not expect it to change when you get access to an airship.
That distinction matters for planning. The pack will not let you skip ahead in the story. Its value is the look plus the early gear and items. Treat it as a head start, not a shortcut.
Where to claim the bonus
Bonus items are claimed at the postbox outside the inn in the Town of Mitra. The items become available after sufficient story progress. Official descriptions do not specify an exact chapter or objective. We will add that detail once we can verify it in the release build.
If the postbox is empty, keep playing the story and check again. Make sure the pre-order entitlement is attached to the same account you play on. Bonuses are delivered through the store you bought from. Contact that store’s support if the items never appear.
When pre-order eligibility ends
Square Enix Asia states that pre-order eligibility ends at release. The game launches on October 22, 2026, with Japanese Steam listing October 23. After release, a purchase is no longer a pre-order. Check the deadline wording on your own store.
Exact store cut-off times were not confirmed in our sources. We therefore do not show a countdown. Store timezones can differ. If you want the bonus, pre-order with a comfortable margin.
The separate early-purchase bonus
Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing identifies a separate early-purchase bonus called the Squire Kickstart Pack. The Xbox store also distinguishes the pre-order pack from a later early-purchase pack. They are two different offers. Do not confuse one with the other.
The early-purchase bonus applies to buying soon after launch rather than pre-ordering. Its contents and deadlines depend on the store. Steam and console listings use different wording for their deadlines. Read the terms on the store you use.
Pre-order pack versus Deluxe pack
The pre-order pack is different from the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack in Digital Deluxe. The Deluxe pack adds a chocobo appearance item, a Fel Meteor Limit Burst unlock, the Mastery Ring accessory and consumables. Its consumables are Tent, Mist Potion, Mist Ether and Phoenix Down x5 each, plus Remedy x3. Both packs can apply to the same purchase if the store terms allow.
A Digital Deluxe pre-order can therefore bring several sets of items. Standard pre-orders get the pre-order pack without the Deluxe pack. Check which bonuses your edition and store include. Our Deluxe guide lists that pack in full.
Which platforms offer the bonus
The pre-order pack appears in Steam’s listing and in Square Enix Asia’s product information. The PlayStation US store and the Xbox US store both offer the game for pre-order. Nintendo’s listing names the separate early-purchase bonus. Each store sets its own terms.
Final Fantasy Resonance launches on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Do not merge one store’s deadline with another’s. Look at the product page where you will buy. That page is the authority for its own bonus.
Should the bonus decide your purchase?
The bonus offers early gear, recovery items and an airship cosmetic. It does not add story content or skip progress. Hands-on previews estimate a 30–40-hour story, so a small early head start has a limited effect. Weigh it against waiting for reviews.
Metacritic showed “tbd” for both scores when we checked. If you want to wait for reviews, you may miss the pre-order window. The free demo covers Chapter 1 and its save carries over. Playing it first can help you decide before the bonus deadline.
Promotional videos
Square Enix’s Demo Trailer advertises the free Chapter 1 demo and save carryover. PlayStation’s Announce Trailer confirmed the PS5 version in June 2026. Those trailers set the promotional context. They do not list every bonus item.
For the actual item list, rely on the store listings. Steam gives the clearest breakdown of the pre-order pack. Square Enix Asia explains the airship cosmetic and the eligibility deadline. Nintendo names the early-purchase pack.
Demo saves and the bonus
The free demo covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1, and its progress can carry into the full game. Many players will therefore start the full game from a demo save. Bonus items are still claimed at the Mitra postbox after sufficient story progress. We have not yet verified exactly when that point is reached in a carried-over save.
Once the full game is out, we will confirm the claim timing with a tested save. Until then, keep playing and check the postbox when you reach the Town of Mitra. If the items are missing after a long stretch, check that the bonus is attached to your account. The store you bought from handles entitlement problems.
Bonus summary by purchase type
A Standard pre-order qualifies for the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack, subject to store terms. A Digital Deluxe pre-order adds the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack as well. Buying soon after launch may qualify for the Squire Kickstart Pack instead, depending on the store. Buying later may include none of these time-limited packs.
The North American Collector’s Edition bundle includes a Digital Deluxe upgrade code. Whether it also counts as a pre-order depends on the store’s terms. Always read the listing before ordering. When in doubt, ask the store’s support team.
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not expect the Passkey to unlock airship travel early. Do not assume the early-purchase pack and the pre-order pack are the same. Do not assume every store uses the same deadline. And do not look for the items before reaching sufficient story progress.
Also avoid buying bonus codes from unofficial sellers. Bonuses are tied to official purchases on each store. Unofficial codes may be invalid or region-locked. Buy from the official store to be sure the bonus applies.
