No official interactive map was verified among Square Enix’s and the platform holders’ published sources. That does not prove no third-party map exists, but we found none we could check. World exploration is documented, with an overworld, towns, dungeons and Sanctums, yet no marker coordinates have been verified. We will not publish a map until it works and its locations are checked.
What we checked
We looked for an interactive map in official publisher and platform sources. Those included Square Enix product information and Nintendo’s official listing. Neither provides an interactive map or a verified marker database. Square Enix Asia lists side activities without location data.
We also considered video sources. Captions from the videos we checked returned no usable text. Captions could not establish spatial coordinates anyway. A trailer is not an interactive map.
What the world contains
RPGFan’s hands-on preview describes an overworld, towns, dungeons and Sanctums. VGC’s preview separately describes overworld travel and visiting a shrine. Official material describes a fantasy world of crystals, airships and espers. Official screenshots show an airship flying over the world map.
Nintendo’s official product information describes exploration and optional content. Optional challenges include the Colosseum, the Chamber of Arms and foes such as Ultima Weapon. Those are the confirmed kinds of places and activities. Their map positions are not verified.
Confirmed place names
The Town of Mitra is one confirmed location. Official bonus information says pre-order items are claimed at the postbox outside the inn there. That makes it a useful landmark. Its map position is not verified in our sources.
We do not list other locations without confirmation. Previews mention types of places rather than full names and positions. Guessing names or coordinates would mislead you. We will add places as they are verified.
Why we have not published a map
An interactive map is only useful if its markers are accurate. Copying a map from another site would not be verified by us. Guessing treasure positions would be worse than having no map. We prefer to publish nothing until we can check each location.
A static image or trailer frame is also not an interactive map. Labelling one as a map would misrepresent what you get. We will not publish an empty map tool either. When our map exists, it will work.
What a real interactive map needs
A usable map needs filters, so you can show only chests, shops or quests. It needs location labels and region or zoom controls. Progress tracking lets you mark what you have found. Each marker should have its own evidence.
Marker-level evidence means a screenshot or note proving the item is there. It also means noting the version tested. Without that, a map cannot be trusted after patches. That is the standard we will hold our map to.
Exploring without a map
Until a verified map exists, explore each area before advancing the main objective. Check towns, dungeons and side paths when you first arrive. This helps you find optional content while it is accessible. It is general advice, not a confirmed game rule.
We have not verified any permanently missable content. An inaccessible chest is not automatically permanently missable. Our missables guide tracks what is actually verified. Keeping a separate save is a sensible precaution.
Airships and overworld travel
VGC describes overworld travel in its preview. Official material places airships in the world, and screenshots show one in flight. The pre-order Magitek Airship Passkey changes the airship’s appearance. It does not unlock early airship travel.
When airship travel becomes available is not confirmed in our sources. We will not guess the chapter. Map routes that depend on airships will be added after verification. The overworld itself is confirmed.
Sanctums and shrines
RPGFan’s preview mentions Sanctums as part of the world. VGC’s preview mentions visiting a shrine. Our sources do not explain whether these are related. We will not assume they are the same thing.
Their number and locations were not verified. A future map would mark each one with evidence. Until then, treat them as places to look out for. We will update this page when we can confirm them.
The demo area
The free demo covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1. It is the only part of the world playable before launch. A full-demo recording on PS5 Pro shows the chapter, but we have not reviewed it scene by scene. We therefore do not map the demo area yet.
If we map Chapter 1 first, it will follow the same evidence rules. Each marker will be checked in the game. The demo’s save carries into the full game. Mapping the full world will follow after launch.
Optional challenges to look for
Official copy lists optional challenges beyond the main adventure. They include the Colosseum and the Chamber of Arms. Powerful foes such as Ultima Weapon are named as well. These are confirmed activities, not confirmed map positions.
A future map would mark where each challenge begins. Until we verify those locations, we will not place them. Keep an eye out for them as you explore. Our length guide explains how optional content affects completion time.
Platforms and the map
Final Fantasy Resonance launches on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The world should be the same content on every platform. We have not verified any platform-specific map differences. A future map will note the version it was built from.
We have not compared the in-game map screens across platforms. If differences turn up, we will note them on the map itself. Markers will be checked on at least one release build. We will label which platform was used.
Third-party maps
Our search did not establish that no third-party map exists. If you use one, check how it sources its markers. Look for screenshots and version labels. Be cautious of maps published before the game’s release.
We do not link competitor maps we cannot verify. That keeps our recommendations accountable. If an official map is released, we will link it here. That would be the best option for everyone.
Help build the map
After launch, you can help us verify locations. Send screenshots showing the place and what you found there. Include your platform and game version. Location names and nearby landmarks help too.
We will check every submission before adding it. Credit is available if you want it. Unverified submissions will not appear on the map. That way the map stays accurate for everyone.
Last checked
This page was checked on October 19, 2026, before launch. No official interactive map had been published at that time. We will re-check official channels after release. Updates will be dated.
The game launches on October 22, 2026, with Japanese Steam listing October 23. Map work will begin once the full world is playable. In the meantime, our other guides cover what is verified. Start with the beginner tips and walkthrough hub.
